Happy holidays from the Hireup team

Happy holidays everyone! It’s been a BIG year for the Hireup community. Our network has grown to over 6,000 people with disability, their families and support workers. Since January, we’ve had over 1,000 new connections made between people seeking support and our support workers. That’s 1,000 times people have taken charge of their supports and made their own choices, which we’re incredibly heartened to see.

It’s also been a landmark year with the official launch of the National Disability Insurance Scheme in July. While the transition was never going to be easy and the scheme still has a number of challenges ahead, we’re already seeing some exciting results. Since July, we have collectively saved people seeking support over $400,000 compared to the NDIS hourly rate. This equates to over is 11,000 extra hours of support for people with disability and their families.

We are very proud of our impact and are looking forward to another big year in 2017!

For the last thing from us for this year, we want to leave you with some wise words from Hireup user, Mel. To mark International Day of People with Disability on 3rd December Hireup Co-founder and CEO, Jordan, and Mel were invited on ABC News 24’s Weekend Breakfast show. We reckon Mel knocked it out of the park with her parting words in the quote below. Watch the full interview here.

Our working hours over the holiday period.
For the working days between Christmas and New Year (Wednesday 28th, Thursday 29th and Friday 30th), a few of us will be sticking around to help with any urgent queries. And as a general reminder, for any major issues or incidents please use our 24/7 online incident reporting form at anytime and we will be in touch straight away. This can be accessed via your Hireup dashboard. Otherwise, we’ll chat again when the team is back on deck from Tuesday, 3rd January. It’s also worth noting that the first pay and invoicing period for the year will start on Tuesday, 3rd January given Monday, 2nd January is a public holiday.
