If you haven’t already heard, we recently launched the Hireup support work job board. A brand new feature that will help our users find people to work with more easily and efficiently.
We’re incredibly excited to be launching the Hireup support work job board. To us, it’s a great step forward in building a more connected community of people with disability, their families and support workers. The job board lets our users take charge of their own supports and find exactly what they’re after.
It’s early days but we’ve already seen job posts for therapy assistants, social coaches, sports buddies, tutoring assistants and personal care support workers. We’ve also seen users advertising for a jobs coach, an assistant dressmaker, a fellow gardner, someone to volunteer with and someone to play boccia with. The jobs are as various as our community, which is entirely the point. Finding good support work is about working out what makes you tick. What’s right for the boccia player won’t necessarily be what’s right for the budding dressmaker. We need to build tools that allow for this and encourage effective, individualised supports.
So how does it work? People seeking support can post a job on the board to let other Hireup users know what they’re looking for. Our home care and support workers can see the board and receive notifications when a job is posted in their local area. Workers are then able to register their interest in the job and message the person seeking support to connect.
If you’re already a Hireup user, to browse jobs or post your own, click on the “job board” button on the top of your dashboard screen when you log in. If not, best sign up to check it out! It’s a sight to see!
