How to update your “bio” on your Hireup profile

How to write and effective Hireup profile.

Your bio is probably the most important part of your Hireup profile. It’s a great way to introduce yourself to the Hireup community and let everyone know who you are and what makes you tick. Writing about yourself in your bio is a great opportunity to share your interests, skills and unique talents. It also helps to include information about the kind of person you would work well with, it helps if people looking at your profile know that they fit with what you’re looking for. For instructions on how to update or rewrite your bio once you’re using a Hireup account, take a look at the step-by-step guide below.

Step 1

Click on the tab with your name in the top right corner of the dashboard and select “settings” from the drop-down list.

Step 2

On the list on the left hand side, click on “Bio”.

Step 3

Write a new bio or update the information in the box provided. If you’re looking for a little inspiration, a great bio example can be found here. Once you’ve made any changes, click the blue “save” button below the box.

Keeping your support requirements up to date is equally important. This is another great way to make sure the support workers that contact you are a good match.

After following steps 1 and 2 above, scroll down until you see the section that says “tell us a bit more about about your support work requirements”. Write a new support work description or update the information in the box provided. Don’t forget to click the “save” button below the box when you have finished making changes.
